Meet the Owner

Kenneth “Sheffer” Kilcrease

Owner of Acacia Roofing & Construction
Central Alabama Roofing Contractor

For Sheffer, roofing and construction isn’t just about shingles, measurements, and getting another job on the schedule. It’s about taking care of people, standing behind your work, and building a company your community can trust.

His Story Starts Here

Alabama Grown.
Community Built.

And when we say his community, we mean it.

Sheffer grew up right here in Millbrook, Alabama, where he attended Stanhope Elmore High School. Long before he became the owner of Acacia Roofing & Construction, he was a local kid playing football and baseball, learning the value of teamwork, hard work, competition, and showing up when people are counting on you.

Those lessons followed him into adulthood—and eventually onto roofs all across Central Alabama.

Around here, your reputation matters.
“There is something different about building a business in the same community that helped build you.”
Customers aren’t numbers. They’re neighbors.
The Part That Matters Most

Family First.
Always.

Ask Sheffer what matters most to him, and roofing probably isn’t going to be the first answer. That title belongs to his family.

The Kilcrease Family

The reason behind everything.

Coach Sheffer

From playing the game himself to helping Bryson learn it— some things have a way of coming full circle.

Dad Above Everything

Football coach on one sideline. Proud cheer dad on the other. Whatever his kids are doing, he’s there for it.

Sheffer and his wife, Amber, have been together for 15 years and are raising their two children, Bryson, 11, and Emerie, 8.

When Sheffer isn’t meeting homeowners, inspecting properties, checking jobs, or helping keep Acacia moving, Dad Duty takes over.

You might find him coaching and teaching Bryson, standing on a football sideline where his own love of sports has come full circle, or proudly attending one of Emerie’s cheer competitions.

And yes—after years of football, baseball, roofing, and construction, CHEER DAD officially made the résumé.

Family is a huge part of the reason Sheffer approaches Acacia the way he does. When you’re working on someone’s home, you’re not simply working on a structure. You’re working on the place where another family lives their life.

Experience You Can Talk To

From Learning the Trade
to Owning It.

Sheffer didn’t build his career from behind a desk.

His experience in the roofing and construction industry put him directly in front of homeowners, contractors, crews, materials, problems, and real-world situations. The industry took him by the hand, but experience taught him how to own the trade.

Over the years, he learned that knowing how to build something is only part of being a great contractor.

You also have to know how to listen, communicate, educate, solve problems, and take responsibility for the finished product.

01

Listen

Understand the homeowner and the property before recommending a solution.

02

Educate

Explain what we see, why it matters, and what the available options are.

03

Communicate

Keep homeowners informed instead of leaving them wondering what’s next.

04

Stand Behind It

Take ownership of the work long after installation day is over.

What Acacia Stands For

A Local Roofing Company
Built on Accountability.

There is something different about owning a roofing company in the same communities where you grew up, went to school, raised your children, coached sports, and built relationships.

Your reputation follows you.

Sheffer wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sheffer believes homeowners deserve to understand what’s happening with their property. That means explaining what we find during an inspection, discussing the available options, answering questions, and giving homeowners the information they need to make an informed decision.

No unnecessary pressure. No confusing contractor talk. Just clear answers and honest recommendations.

Why It Matters

More Than a Roof
Over Your Head.

A roof protects a lot more than four walls.

It protects birthday mornings, late-night conversations, kids running through the hallway, family dinners, pets asleep on the couch, and everything else that makes a house feel like home.

Sheffer understands that because he’s a homeowner, husband, father, coach, and member of this community too.

“We treat your home like our own. Because it matters.”
